Any Brave Souls Out There?

I got my assignment for snape_ldws  Secret Santa drabble exchange this morning.  After seeing my assignment, I sat right down to write it, but now I'm in trouble.

The word limit is 250.  I have 309.  AFTER editing.  Anyone care to help me pare this down?  I'm horrible with this.  :-P  Just let me know and I'll send it to you.

I'd be pleased to have a look. Half my day during short story season at work is paring things down to the word limit. :-)

Oh, bless you!!! Shall I send it to you via email, or put it up on Google Docs?

Either works for me with something this short, but the notes section on Google Docs might be handy. Either way, send it on and I'd be happy to get to it before the end of the day.

It's up on Google Docs now. Thank you sooooooo much - you're a peach! :-)

My pleasure. I dropped you an email but I don't know if you got it—would you mind terribly extending the invitation to my other address? I don't have a Google account with the Yahoo one.

No, I didn't get it. Did you send it to albalark at yahoo dot com?

No, I replied to the address the invitation came from. Sorry for the confusion—my gmail address is atdelphi at gmail dot com.

Well, I figured out where the message went! I was on our HPLC, which has a shared computer as an instrument controller, and I wasn't signed on as me - the person on before me hadn't logged out, so I put it on her google docs account, and so the message went to her email. Geez . . . observant, aren't I? :-P

Anyway . . . I've sent you an invite through your gmail account, and re-routed Kelly to there as well.

I still haven't received my assignment. And I checked my spam folder and wrote the mod and all. Hmmmmm.....

I'll be happy to cast an eye as well, if you can wait till tomorrow. But I suspect Delphi will be all you need!

The more the merrier. Delphi and you are probably the dream beta team, so yes, I can wait, and you are a dear for offering.

It's up on Google docs now, so look at it at your leisure. And, Thank You!!!! ::smishes::

Considering those who arrived first, I shall settle for wishing you well on this project. You have scalpels, and therefore no need of an axe.

Oh, Lash, that's so nice of you! I'm grateful that you'd even consider it. :-)

P.S. I've been saving your Fleur/Hermione story to read when I've got time to get through the whole thing. The little of it I've indulged in so far is marvelous!

Think of it as prose haiku.

Two-hundred fifty
I cannot speak so briefly
I must use more words

LOL! You are *such* a poet, Lash!

I know what you mean . . . concision is not my strong point, by any means. I *really* admire people who are the masters of the 100 word drabble. I can't even get the fic started in that kind of space, let alone finish it. I keep trying, though! :-)

I know how you feel. There's those who drabble and those who babble.

I'm irretrievably in the latter category.

Also, I love Lash's haiku. And with the correct number of syllables, too.

If this comment reaches you: you're the greatest, Lash!

::ggg:: In my case, the babble is a torrent. :-P

Also, I love Lash's haiku
She's amazing, isn't she?
